For the cloud cover protocal the students have to determine whether the cloud cover they observe is:

• clear: clouds cover less than 10% of the sky
• isolated: clouds cover from 10% to 25% of the sky
• scattered: clouds cover from 25% to 50% of the sky
• broken: clouds cover greater than 50% but less than 90% of the sky
• overcast: clouds cover more than 90% of the sky
