Jackie Beasley resigns as Principal

Dear Lilburn Parents,

It is with sadness that I must tell you that I will not be returning to Lilburn Elementary as principal next year.  I have spent eleven happy and productive years here.  Watching our children grow up to become such wonderful students has been my special joy.  It has also been an honor to work with such a dedicated and talented staff.

I have been given the opportunity to continue with Gwinnett County Public Schools as a mentor for new principals.  I knew that I had at most two years before I retired from education, and this new opportunity allows me to share all that I have learned at Lilburn with principals just beginning their career, before I head to the mountains of North Georgia.

I can assure you that the transition between my leaving and the new principal coming will be smooth.  You will be given the opportunity to provide input to our Superintendent on the kind of principal that you want at Lilburn.  I will also be giving input that will ensure that the right person is appointed.  The new principal will be announced after the May School Board Meeting on Friday, May 9th.

I want to thank you for allowing me the privilege of leading such a wonderful school.  Your support for our students and staff has meant so much to our success. 

I will remain here until July 1st and will work closely with the new principal during the months ahead.  It has been an honor to be your principal.  I will always call Lilburn “Home” and all of you “Family”.

Welcome to Lilburn Elementary School

In 2006, Lilburn Elementary was awarded the distinction "School of Excellence" by Governor Perdue and the State of Georgia. We were also recognized for our achievement in two separate proclamations from the Georgia Legislature and Mayor Bolton from the City of Lilburn.

These honors serve to reinforce our commitment to academic success for all students. Our dedicated staff is committed to provide each child a supportive and challenging environment where they can grow and learn each day. To be successful, we need the support of our parents and community partners. Come visit our school, have lunch with your child, or volunteer in a classroom or the Media Center. Attend parent conferences, visit your child's teacher, or register for one of our monthly "Lunch and Learn" events. Together, there is so much we can do to help your child and each and every child achieve their personal best. I look forward to seeing you soon!
