Specials teachers need to have grades completed before leaving for break. Classroom teachers may continue to work on grades over break but they are due the end of the day when you come back on January 3. You will get PDF copies on Monday, January 8, and Report Cards go home on Friday, January 12. Classroom teachers The end of term process opened yesterday so you can begin putting in comments. Please remember that once you put in a comment, you can change it, but you cannot leave it empty. Here are some helpful links to complete the end of term process. If anyone would like assistance in person, I will offer help sessions in Lab C Wednesday, 12/13 and Monday, 12/18 @ 8:00 as well as at 3:40. (I get here by 7:15 for any early arrivers that want to come down.)

Interims/ DAs are well underway in the labs. This means there are no assigned lab times until Dec. 20). Check the schedule because there have been some changes. Remember to take your name off the schedule if you are giving the test in the room so others can use the slot. With illnesses and the snow, we have teachers looking for open slots. Also, 1st & 2nd grades remember to use Internet Explorer so you will have the audio option working properly. 3rd - 5th grades, here are the reminders about giving your tests. Also, if you want to practice with the audio file and a passage, choose the Practice Audio on the Intranet page.
PLEASE make sure students are logging out of Google AND Schoolnet correctly.

A potential issue has been discovered in Grade Book when using the Quick Assignment feature. This occurs when the screen is not allowed to fully load as teachers first open the Quick Assignment view which results in missing grades.
Teachers should wait until the Quick Assignment screen loads completely after adding sections to the Quick Assignment options and before entering scores and returning to the grade book. Teachers that begin entering scores or clicking "Return to the Grade Book" too quickly can cause a loss of scores for that assignment. We are working with the vendor to correct the issue. In the mean time, please be sure to allow the Quick Assignment screen to fully load before adding scores and returning to Grade Book main.

As winter break approaches, please make sure that your digital learning day information is complete. You need to make sure you have added a partner teacher to your page in case you cannot publish the day of the inclement weather. Directions for adding partner instructors can be found here. Also, if your ESOL teacher does not have rights to your page, please add him/her as well through the same procedures.
The specials teachers met and decided which grade levels they will support for the digital days instead of figuring out which day in the rotation it is etc. Please use this attached document to know the special for your grade level AND add a link to your Digital Learning Module so your students will have easy access.

If you cannot get the generic 600student login to log in to the computer, please just have the student log in with their own student number. This is actually best practice anyway. There is a problem with the generic account and the county doesn't seem to be able to fix it. Therefore it is inconsistent in working.

As you all are preparing your collaborative lessons in your PLCs, these directions may be helpful. If you would like for me to come to a grade level meeting and assist you with this process, please let me know.

All afterschool students should have already taken the midyear benchmark. All the rest of the students need to take it in both LA and Math. This is something they can do when they finish the DA or other time in the classroom.
Also, please remember that if a student no longer has any lessons under instruction, that means a new ILP needs to be generated. Here is a link to the directions for generating ILPs.

With all of the holiday gatherings coming up, there are many times you want to find a place to meet that friend that lives on the other side of the county, or the other side of town. Meet in the Middle is a great website to help you find a central meeting place. Just put in the addresses and choose which type of meeting place you would like (coffee, ice cream, Mexican restaurant, Asian restaurant, shopping, etc.) You then get a map with the original addresses marked, the geographic midpoint marked and all of the meeting places that fit your category chosen.
