Some teachers have realized that their weights in their second semester grade book are not correct. I have tried to put together a table to explain the categories and weights for each subject. It is at the end of the document about adding reading level in the grade book. If you notice something incorrect, please let me know! If you need assistance checking your grade book, please ask. We will be glad to help!
I have had multiple teachers ask about students that have withdrawn still showing on their rosters. Please make sure you are looking at S2 roster in Schoolnet
Many times we may be in the middle of some important email or looking at sensitive data and need to go to another room but don't want to log out etc. A quick Windows+L will lock your computer screen to keep that sensitive data safe! Other shortcuts
Windows + E = file exploring window
Windows + D = desktop, meaning all windows are minimized at once
Windows + . (period) = show emoji menu
Windows + P = Projector settings when you are connected to another display (projector, 2nd monitor, etc. decide if you want extended screen, duplicate screen, etc.)

In case you missed the eClass PLCs, we have discussed the benefits of Google Calendar. Did you know you can add the address of the school Google calendar to your own calendar in your phone to keep up with important dates? There is also one just for faculty about Tuesday meetings and much more. These calendars are updated as the Advance Planner and Professional Development Calendars are sent out. You can find the addresses in this document. You can also see them embedded together on this page. If you find an error on the calendar, just let me know so I can fix it. I'd love to add field trip information as well when appropriate. If you want to look back at directions for embedding calendars in your eClass page, use these directions.
As Milestones approaches, I know many are asking about online practice. The Ga DOE has a practice area on their website. It may help to practice the tools and the look, it does NOT practice content or wording of questions. The USA Prep information I sent out a couple of weeks ago can help more with content. When DAs finish (this Friday), feel free to come to sign up for the lab to practice if you will be testing online.
Progress reports go home next week. Here are the directions on how to print the Summary Progress Reports. Remember not to print them until Next Wednesday so that everyone has the same "snapshot" of grades going home. All DA scores should be entered by that point as well.
The next BYOD day is THIS Friday, March 16. If you haven't already, it is a great suggestion to send to parents to have them download a QR code reader for the devices. This makes it much simpler when you want the students to go to a specific website etc. Also, the county recently update the certificate for wireless access, so be sure to keep the directions handy in case you need to forget and reconnect to GCPS-Mobile on any devices.
