Remember that DAs begin in the labs on Thursday, March 9. Please check the schedule from Russ or you can check the regular lab schedule. There are a few open slots and you are welcome to sign up for those slots as long as you leave promptly so those testing can begin on time. Remember - NO REGULARLY ASSIGNED LAB TIME until March 24.
Sometimes when creating a document in Google, you want to change the layout and/or margins. When you are in a Google Doc, go to File> Page Setup and you can change the orientation and the margins.
As you all work on your grades for this 9 weeks as well as going forward, don't forget about the Quick Assign feature that allows you to create an assignment AND give a grade for an entire grade level at a time. You can then go back and edit the particular students that need changes. Quick Assign should be used with NO MORE than 1 grade level of sections at at time. Here is a handout, and here is a link to a video that may help. Also, here is a link to the specials schedule with section extensions so you know which section belongs to which teacher.
It is hard to believe that the end of the 9 weeks is upon us. We will be sending out progress reports on March 17. Please pay careful attention to the information below from Mrs. Merisme.
- Specials teachers should have all grades in by Thursday, 3/9/17.
- Teachers will print the Summary Progress Reports w/ Category Details by Wednesday, March 15 and turn in a copy to Ms. Varela for files.
- Progress reports will go home on Friday, March 17.
Beginning the fourth nine weeks, specials teachers should have grades in per rotation (every two weeks). Waiting until the last minute is more stressful and doesn't account for our transiency issues.
Here are directions for printing the progress reports with category detail.
If you have students that are NEP or low LEP and do not have access to Imagine Learning due to age or license, BrainPop ESL may be the answer. All NEP students enrolled since January have been added. If you have other students that need access, please put in a ticket with their name and student number and I will be happy to add them. Students will log in by finding the icon on the intranet page and then enter their student # and 2learn as the password. They may begin with the placement test. There are 3 levels to the program, 1 level for every 2 levels in the WIDA categories. You can track student's progress via MyBrainpop, and they can also do concept mapping and ESL friendly games! There are great content based lessons too. Poke around a bit and see which of your students can benefit from it.
