There is a new Team Drive for Class Schedules. Please upload your daily schedule to that folder. (Directions for uploading to the folder are here.) If you need a template, there is one already in the folder. you can open it and then MAKE A COPY of it and complete it with your daily schedule. When you name your schedule, please use the following naming convention (GradeLevel LastName 17-18).
Permission letters will be going home in Friday Folders. I encourage you to also mention it to your parents that come to conferences and APTT nights. Please encourage them to have a QR scanner app on the device. That will enable the students to scan the QR code of the intranet page and go directly there without having to type it in.
If your grade level has a particular activity you would like created like a Kahoot, Quizziz, etc., please email me by Thursday afternoon. We will try to create it and add it to your eClass page by next Friday. In Tuesday's Tech Tidbits we will have a list of Activities available for you.
Have you ever wanted to show the students something and then have something else on your screen, different from the projector? Maybe you want to show a presentation via Google Slides or Power Point and want to see the different notes and slides to know what you need say or what is coming next. you can press the windows key + P and choose Extend. (You must have the projector connected to see the options.) Drag to the right, the window you want to show on the projector.
I have added a link to ClassWorks from each grade level Symbaloo. This will allow your students to go to your eClass Course Page, click the link and open ClassWorks instead of just clicking the link before going to the course page. So if you want students to do a discussion post, then go to ClassWorks, they can do it all from your course page without leaving.
I tested it with a 3rd grade class in the lab. For most of them, it worked fine. There were some where it asked them to type in their student number and password and they got in, and a couple never could get in that way. Since it really isn't supported this way, please just put in a ticket with a student name and number so I can try to trouble shoot those issues one by one. Hopefully this will be more convenient for you having it on your Course Page.
This is just a reminder that every adult in the building should have a G Suite account for Lilburn. (On the intranet page, click on the Google Drive icon pictured to the left.) The naming convention is FirstinitialLastname@lilburnes.org i.e. firstname.lastname@example.org. The first time you log in, the password is teach2017 and you should be prompted to change it to a password with at least 8 characters. This gives you access to lots of information either linked from Tech Tidbits, in the TeamDrives, or linked from various eClass course pages. If you cannot get into your account, please submit a ticket.
Are you tired of either waiting forever to scan that picture that is actually printed out or of the glare you get when you try to take a picture of a picture. Well, try PhotoScan by Google. It is available for Android and iOS and will change the way you take care of your old photos. Here is a link to the site with more information, and here is a link to a short video that shows just how it works.
